Best Western Chilworth Manor Hotel

My wife & I really enjoy Chilworth Manor. We have now stayed there 3 times in the past 15 mths. The staff are friendly & helpful, Christina in the dining room excels at her work, in fact every member of staff we interacted with was helpful. However, there were 2 issues that we wanted to highlight, In highlighting these, we trust future guests to Room 1 will not have these issues to content with. 1 - Air-conditioning unit outside bedroom window of Room 1. We stayed for 10 nights, Thursday 22/23, being our last night. For the first 7 nights, we had good nights sleep for the remaining 3 this air-conditioning unit continued to emit a loud droning sound throughout the night. We did mention this to reception the following morning, but nothing was done to remedy this situation. We are not the complaining type, so we left it, therefore enduring poor quality sleep for the remaining 2 nights. This was very disappointing. My wife is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and this was our first break away since September 2024. 2 - The hot water situation in Room 1 is very poor. Despite running the hot sink tap for several minutes their was little or no hot water. Despite the above issue, our experience of staying at Chilworth Manor remains a positive one.

Just perfect for our needs. Travelling with a car and trailer so needed a large parking space plus on-site facilities to enjoy as it’s not appropriate to search out restaurants etc with a trailer. Very impressed with the swimming pool and jacuzzi. Our evening meal was lovely and afterwards we enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the antics of the swallows. Very good choice of food for our self-service breakfast which we had paid for in advance in the room rate. Before departing we explored the extensive grounds which have conservation status. We would be happy to stay here for a few days as a touring base for Southampton, Winchester and New Forest.

Breakfast was not so good the first morning. We went at 10-15 in the morning food wasn’t so freshly cooked. Second morning we went after 9am food wasn’t a lot fresher. Has for our room we asked for more coffee,tea, milk before we went out ,and more extra towels and when we came back. There was no extra milk coffee and tea bags, and no extra towels put in our room. We had to go to reception and they gave us more extra supplies.

Breakfast was great, room just good and probably a bit better than expected. The well worn but perfectly fine Spa was included on the price - sauna could have been hotter. Hotel was quiet, the conference room was perfectly good with good catering.

Beautiful building and extensive grounds, staff absolutely brilliant haven't had such good service in ages! Room very comfortable had everything that we needed (bed extremely comfortable). Booked B&B breakfast was buffet style and perfect. We decided to make a reservation for evening meal and were not disappointed good menu's and extremely large portions well cooked and beautifully served by the waiting staff. Our cruise embarkation was moved on an hour and so we paid extra for a late 1pm check out. Would stay here again.
